Programme Co-ordinator (part time/ freelance contract)

February 2012 – February 2013

Fee: £22,500 pro rata; £9000 fee for two day per week equivalent.

Ceol ‘s Craic is the vibrant social hub and platform for contemporary Gaelic culture in Glasgow. Founded in 2004 it is based in the CCA (Centre for Contemporary Arts), and manifests mainly as a monthly cross art form event.

Ceol ‘s Craic celebrates high quality contemporary Gaelic art across art form – music, dance, literature, film and drama – exploring ideas about what contemporary Gaelic culture is and who it is for.  It provides a focus for the Gaelic community, across age range, around Glasgow, on an on-going basis, whilst aiming to build partnerships and diversify audiences amongst different cultural groups.

We are looking for a dynamic and creative individual or team who can produce the Ceòl ‘s Craic programme, working with the Board to deliver our events over the next year.

UWS Students enter FilmG Short Gaelic Film Competition.

FILM G COMPETITION
UWS students studying the Screen Drama module have entered a 5 minute Gaelic short film in the MgAlba sponsored Film G Competition.

The film is entitled "An Aite Eadar na Facail" - (The Space Between Words).

If you like the film you can encourage creativity at UWS by voting for it in the people's vote.  The closing date for voting in the FilmG competition is 31st Jan.

As part of the New Talent Awards 2012 BAFTA in Scotland invite YOU to become THE NEXT BIG THING…

After the worldwide success of shows such as Come Dine with MeThe Apprentice,TOWIEThe Million Pound Drop and X Factor, BAFTA in Scotland are looking for the talent who will deliver the next generation of global hit entertainment formats.

Entrants are invited to pitch via a taster tape on DVD. Content can be anything that illustrates your concept – all ideas are welcome - the only stipulation is a time limit of between 1 and 10 minutes in duration. Theprize is a coveted place on TRC’s fantastic GenUp programme. This fantastic experience offers immersion weeks at Channel 4 and BBC Scotland combined with seminars and workshops led by some of the top practitioners in the business.  It runs full-time for five weeks starting 6 June 2012. Waterloo Rd Looking for Supporting Artistes In Greenock

GBM Casting are holding an open day for extras for the Waterloo Road programme on Wednesday 18th January 11am -3pm at The Trust Training Centre, 48-50 Muirshiel Road, Port Glasgow. 
They are looking for young people aged 16-24 (who look like they are of school age).  The extras need to be unemployed as they will be required to work 9-5 and may be called in at short notice.  They also need to have an insurance number.  The pay will be in the region of £60 a day and the work is unlikely to be regular.  No acting skills are required and people should attend the casting dressed as they would normally i.e. if they have piercings, are goths, have shaved heads etc.

They require a large number of extras that they can call in over the 18-24 months of the contract and they are keen not to be using the same faces all the time.
